Wellity Education was founded with the belief that in order to create well schools, we must invest in the educators who serve students. Co-Founders, Lauren Greenspan and Julia Handelman, know this first hand. As lifelong educators, they sought out yoga and mindfulness tools to support their well-being after years of stress, fatigue, and burnout. With the support of a Fund for Teachers grant, they had the opportunity to study in Bangalore, India. During their fellowship, they saw the profound impact of mindfulness instruction in schools. They returned home energized and inspired to launch Wellity Education (formerly Youth Yoga Project) to equip educators with well-being practices for themselves and their students.
Wellity Education knows a great educator can change the entire trajectory of a student’s life. Yet, educators cannot be great if they are unwell. We are investing in the well-being of educators so that every child can learn tools to strengthen their mental and emotional health.
